The Persistence of Truth

For what do I know?
And why does he do it?
I can not cope with his persistence
He err’s and Ahh’s
Because he wants to know me

But the lack of trust
shows he does not believe it
If to repent is divine
He has already said lies
If the truth sets you free

Why does he persist each time?
To prove a point or cause it?
That friction inside is due to my resistance
All he wants hereafter
Is to know what I know, you see.

“To err is human, to repent divine, to persist devilish.”

Poor Richard’s Almanack

“Things are not always what they seem.”

Bee-Keeper and the Bees” from Aesop’s Fables

“The truth shall set you free.”

John 8:32

  1. When you weave them all together it does make a lot more sense… there are those who always err, are they more human than the rest of us?

    1. Is it just that they see the truth how they want to see it 😉

  2. I see many parables here, which gives rise to really very clever words and thoughts. This was magnificent.

    1. Thank you so much ❤

  3. Some say truth is perception. In some cases, that is the problem.
Science is what tries to prove truth. Interesting to think of it that way, eh?
Glad you posted to the prompt!

    1. Yes so many things not black and white, a maths or scientific problem easy to be right or wrong. But everything else is usually based on a perception. X thank you for reading it and commenting 😊
